Red Hat - Fedora

Fedora, formerly Fedora Core, is a distribution GNU / Linux based system RPM , developed by the Fedora Project and supported by the company Red Hat .This distribution is intended as a complete operating system and general, composed entirely of free software . Therefore derives from the Fedora distribution Red Hat Linux, and is intended to replace the end-user (non-commercial use). Maintaining Fedora comes largely from its user community. Red Hat Fedora for many developers, the company does not provide official support for the general user.

The pace of new releases is based on that of GNOME, that is to say six months. Features Fedora is entirely free and is based on free software. Linux distributions are primarily distinguished from each other by the program and the initial configuration of the same operating system. It is important to understand the distribution is not a version or edition; they all have the same basic tools and equipment. Therefore, at a theoretical level, are fully compatible with each other in the area of application, or at least - when you compile from source (on a practical level, likely some reservations).

Currently Red Hat has divided the business into two distinct areas, firstly the Fedora project to promote end-users, which takes three versions a year, keeping the Red Hat packages for corporate users, who remain longer, and guarantee their stability.

Mandrake Linux

The old name of Mandrake Linux was Mandriva. It was created by Duval. This type of Linux distribution has changed the default environment of desktop for KDE and it is easy to use because Linux is very hard to install and use.
