Introduction

The Human Resource Management (HRM) runs all the activities to manage the human skills and talents to use them effectively to produce an output. Small-scale and large-scale organizations all perform the HR functions and activities to achieve the organization aims and goals. The primary function of Human Resource Management is to increase the effectiveness and contribution of employees in the attainment of organizational goals and objectives. The Human Resource Management is linked with the Information Technology (IT) department for all the internal communications and functions to be performed while HRM carry's out any activities or implements any strategy (Abella, O.V., 2006).

The most common functions issues that the HRM operates are the management of the workforce, recruitment, training, rewarding, selection, and promoting, compensating, redundancy, dismissal, disciplining and employee benefits. The IT department creates a communicating software like an automated ERP to carry all the processing of administrative and complex procedures for the HRM. The HR department is necessary because it has the authority to decide all the terms and conditions for an individual and the organization itself. The main function they carry out is the recruitment of an employee. The tracking over his/her skills, capabilities, performance and providing guidance, advice, service, implementing and creating policies are all being conducted by the HR managers (SAO, 2013).

Discussion

The HR executives follow integrated Human Resource Management System (HRMS) software which has been designed by the IT professionals. The IT department designs, develops and maintains the software that is linked to a mainframe computer that operates large amount of data transactions in the organization (Skills CFA, 2013). The HR practitioners work more than the administrative activities that they work out in the current position. They are also involved in the productivity, profitability and economic growth of the organization. Besides all the management there is another function where HR focuses, that is the recruitment and selection section. There many functions of HR runs in various categories and keeps the consistency over the research and development to keep satisfying the customer and the employees (Abella, O.V., 2006).

HR also has to hover over the retentions of employees and keep the customer satisfied by providing them with qualitative services and achieve a higher Return on Investment (ROI). HR is the higher level of management who are using up the investment of the shareholders in the best possible way to earn a higher Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) (SAO, 2013).

There are many features and functions where HR focuses more over the performance of the organization. The research over increasing the performance of the organization is consistently being explored. The main functions that a HR department works on are clearly mentioned in (Diagram 1) (SAO, 2013).
