The Family Literacy program provides all five components of the Even Start model: adult education, parent education, early childhood education, Parent and Child Together activities (PACT), and home visiting. We collaborate mainly with Head Start, located in the same building, and with the School District of Lancaster, but we also serve parents and children throughout Lancaster County (Black, 1998, 33).

While I realize that it is almost impossible to give a specific answer at that time, and while I do everything possible to explain why, that question always makes me shake a little, because I know that not once have I made a formal assessment and reached to know the students much better, not being necessarily be able to give a definitive answer to that question.

The thing is I'm still learning how to measure where students are actually willing to take the plunge.
