School administration sometimes faces different issues on academics and management of students. At the moment, school administration wants to make the students more disciplined as they are not concentrating on their studies and focusing more on sports and extracurricular activities. Moreover, these students lack the ability to think out of the box, which is detrimental to their development. A school leadership consisting of two experienced teachers, head of the society and the two top scorers of the school is established to sort out the issue. They will assign the students specific tasks that will not only engage them in healthy activity, but will also be a source of learning.
School Leadership Teams (SLTs) are composed of school organizations an equal number of parents and staff. It shall meet at least once a month, and determine the structure of school-based planning and shared decision-making. The main responsibility of the SLT is the development of school Comprehensive Education Plan that is aligned with the school-based budget. SLT is recommended to seek the views of various groups of the school community to ensure that all voices are heard in relation to the needs of students (Jennings, 2008). Functioning in a collaborative manner, SLTs also help evaluate the effectiveness of school education programs and their impact on student achievement. SLT receive the necessary support and guidance of their teams in the districts of Leadership.
According to the State Education Law, Section 2590, all public schools in New York City are required to establish teams of the Leadership School. SLTs must meet the current Chancellor's Regulation A-655 (Young, 2009).
