Introduction

Leadership is the attribute that is most important to have in life as it is imperative for the development and plays a vital role in the development of the personal and professional self of the human being. Though the definition and impact of leadership differs from person to person, the main aspect of leadership that attracts people from across the fields is that it inculcates within people the ability to conceive and influence change so that established norms that are not in the favor of mass could be challenged and modified or abolished. Leaders garner respect from his fellows and audience because of their ability to take stand on the burning issues and generate consensus.

Discussion

With the world becoming more and more complex and the political system along with the organizations harnessing this complexity into greater sophistication, the need for leaders and organized leadership is seen as gaining momentum in the recent times. People have increasingly started to depend on the leaders to emerge so as to fight increased bureaucracy and represent their needs and problems and provide them with advocacy programs; guidance and support. This organized leadership and related programs inevitably leads the group to become official representative; in publics' perception, for the respective needs that influenced them into the leadership role, which subsequently led people into assuming them as leaders.

This is the major platform through which teams are usually formed. Though, it should be known that a team would not always be formed to represent the needs of the people but rather there are other motives and agendas that are needed to be catered. These motives are not always aligned with the public or superior causes but they can be formed around organizational goals and objectives, governmental operations, industrial alliance and the likes. The scope of the team leadership is wider with it extending beyond more apparent levels to incorporate people at all levels, for the need of leadership does not disappear but keeps on increasing with the organizational structure becoming more and more intricate and complex.

Team leadership is all about inculcating among the team members optimism through learning, challenges, success and fun. If the leader will only emphasize upon the learning without providing practical aspects and situations; without putting in challenging exercises to gauge the learning, the leadership is not there. Success in the learning can only be gauged when there are benchmarks and pointers implemented; benchmark to see whether they are met and indicators to denote the performance and the level which comes next in the queue to be focused. These components lead to the element of 'fun' within the team that is an integral need of the member to be fulfilled for if it is not there, the drive won't be there. The drive is one sole ingredient that keeps the team persistent and perseverant towards the goal they want to achieve and helps them moving ahead when they know that the goal they are aiming for is difficult to achieve ...
