Introduction

Leadership styles are helpful for individuals in setting directions for their team. It is the process of knowing that how one can identify the natural style of leadership, knowing the needs as well as the maturity of the team and also knowing the situation of ministry. The area of subject that is being addressed in this paper is viewing of the successful leader and his / her leadership style, addresses why and how he or she is in the role of leadership, along with comparison between the two leadership styles. Further this study also identify traits that would be helpful for me in learning from the successful leader along with identifying of all the strengths which I possess and this learning can be beneficial and helpful to the successful leaders.

Oprah Winfrey, a famous name who is known as the successful leader who strives for seeing change in the world by helping other people. She might not have borne in the leadership but Oprah has brought herself towards the place where she is standing today with the efforts and consistent determination, positive strengths as well as the good will. Oprah Winfrey is one of the most renowned and successful woman and is considered a world icon and has given inspiration to many of the people. She has also become the reason and has moved many of the women over time. She is the person, who has individualistic personality which helps her in making a good leader, good director of new projects as well as a very talented motivator who motivates others to act on them.

Why is the leader successful?

As a leader the success of Oprah Winfrey embodies both the transformational and the charismatic leadership in order to accomplish her envisioned tasks. The charismatic leader of Oprah has helped her in leading the National Child Protection Act in the year of 1991, in which she was testified before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee to institute a national database of the convicted child abusers. This bill became the Oprah Bill Law by Bill Clinton in the year of 1993 (Lussier and Achua, p.332).

In year 1986, the transformational leadership of Oprah has even helped her in forming her own production company which is called the Harpo Productions which brings in the production of some very interesting and entertaining projects. After two years, the history of television has been made when Harpo Productions has announced that it has been assumed ownership and total responsibility of production for the show of Oprah Winfrey from the capital cities, which has made her the very first woman to host and own as well as produce her talk show.

In the year 2000 Oprah has launched Oprah magazine which has became one of the leading publications of women's lifestyle. The magazine has enables her in reaching out to the audience and providing possibilities in providing the possibilities for the transformation of their lives.
