Introduction

The paper focuses on the article reviews on three topics which are the policing crime prevention programs, court crime prevention programs and the corrections crime prevention program. Therefore, the paper discusses one article review related to one topic head. The effectiveness of the crime prevention program can be analyzed from the declining rate of crime in various states. The rate of burglary and theft has largely declined in United States due to watch program.

Policing Crime Prevention Programs - policing, schools, and community oriented policing

The article chosen for this head is 'Technology to Enhance Community and Problem-Oriented Policing' by Meghan S. Chandek, M.S. published in Michigan State University. This article discusses the law enforcement agencies working across the United States for the implementation of policing such as society police and problem-oriented police and how their efforts are directed. Community policing is foreseen by the police efforts (Chandek, 1999). The underlying conditions of crime are comprised of efforts by the problem-oriented policing. The article focuses on how the policing are facilitated by the technological advancement. The current models of policing are related to technology in this article. The article has discussed telephonic advances which include computer aided dispatch systems, a three-digit nonemergency number, and auto-dialing alert network. The computerized advances are also discussed in this article which comprises of mobile digital terminals and crime mapping (Chandek, 1999). The article has also discussed the analysis programs of in-house data, websites and some caveats. According to this study the technology and police practice is can be directed in numerous ways. Nowadays, the police departments are technologically-oriented and information-driven.
