Introduction I am the configuration manager at SHUTEL. My name is James Cameroon. I am responsible for managing the change that takes place at our Hotels whether it relates to changes in the systems of the hotel or changes in the operating procedures at the hotel. I will be there at all times to manage change effectively, and at this point of time I will be managing the technological change that our GM has discussed in a meeting with the IT manager and senior employees of the company. Though many key employees of different departments were missing in the last meeting including the finance manager, change manager, configuration manager, service validation and testing manager and release and deployment manager but there can always be a meeting at a further date arranged with the GM and CEO in the chair for final approval of the changes to the systems.

DiscussionConfiguration Management James Cameron, will be in touch with the IT manager and all the software and hardware requirements of the hotel will be evaluated. There will be different card readers installed in the rooms and upgrade of existing cards will take place so the configuration manager will ensure that card readers with the right specification are ordered. He will also have to ensure that good quality card readers which are along with their license and insurance coved are ordered from a manufacturer that has the best quality and a good reputation in the market and also the manufacturer is including after-sales service to the company for the software that they will provide, that to, free of cost. Also the configuration manager must ensure that quality products that are within the hotel's budget they are ordered and handed over to the installation department for the installing them in the doors of the hotel rooms, reception, kiosk, EPOS, and wherever there is a need.

Configuration manager must also ensure that spare parts are ordered along with the main order. There will a test check of all the approved devices before they are bought by the Test and validation department of the old and latest software as well as EPOS, printers and KIOSKs, that are going to be bought and upgraded before being installed as to approve whether the software and other machine ordered are valid and functioning properly in our current system. If they are valid to our current systems an order will be approved at the General meeting also approval for more of this software if they successfully are launched and remain operational for three months without any hassle. If the test and validation department disapprove the test or software is not compatible with our systems they will not be ordered and the CEO and GM will be asked to stop the implementation of the order.
