CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Background of the research
Almost every business wants to adjust them self accordingly, to meet the conditions, to suit practices and standards which serve their requirements individually. The paper will describe all the guidelines and procedures through which one can have the idea that what how the organizations align them self with the ISO, COBIT and ITIL for the aspects of service management. The IT industry need to constantly grow the adaptation of the best practices to be able to deliver better reliability and quality in the business environment and would be able to respond accurately to the contractual as well as regulatory requirements. (Van 2004 14)
Rationale
For the realization of the best practices value to the business, the communication in IT services must be two-way, as the mutual experience between the service provider and the customer should exist for the effective usage. Further concerned stakeholders, like senior executive, regulators, auditors and board, must be interested in knowing that whether the IT investment is delivering value and is protected properly
Aims and Objectives
The aims of the research are to find out how the companies enable themselves to align with the industry standards like COBIT, ITIL and ISO 27001 to meet today's dynamic and complex business environment.
Significance
A lot of IT companies are making use of the structures and measures for dealing with the issues related to the security of data. All the standards play a vital role for the general security plans and perform very unique functions.
