Is it Necessary to have Universal Ethical Principles?

Introduction

Human beings are undoubtedly the most supreme creation on the planet. However, the human are also the most complex creatures. This complexity is because of the dual nature that lies within humans. In most cases, humans are smart and sensible and calculate critically every single aspect of any matter before taking a decision. In fact, the very reason humans are regarded as the most brilliant creation of the lord is their ability to rationalize different situations and scenarios. However, the fact cannot be denied that in many cases, humans are driven by their sheer impulse. In such a state, humans have the capability to do perform very irrational acts. Hence, these are the times when they must be reminded of the certain limits with which the ethical codes binds them. It is important to note that in various fundamental aspects, humans all over share a number of personality trait and characteristics. Therefore, it is only sensible that a universal code of ethics is maintained.

Thesis Statement

Establishing, implementing and maintaining a universal code of ethics is very essential. This is to ensure that individuals, societies, communities and nations refrain from committing unethical and unjustified practices in the name of religion, culture, traditions and other such values.

Discussion

In addition, they have stated that these rules and conducts that differentiate between wrong and right must be practiced and validated irrespective of the faiths, attitudes, interests, traditional values and believes. This is simply because every individual country or nation follows their set of rules, principles and values, where some of these values may violate the ethical and moral limits (Traber, 1997). Moreover, in most cases such values are widely accepted by the all the citizens and hence any such value faces no resistance when they are practiced.

Therefore, it will be fair to say that these universal ethical principles serve as an obstacle in the practicing of the other irrational, immoral and unethical exercises. There have been many experts who have supported the importance of a universal ethical system that will offer the guidelines as a standard to ensure that any grievance or injustice is prevented in any part of the country. Many Universalists, philosophers and intellectuals have decaled time after time that no matter how much things have changed from the past, there will always be a huge population of individuals who will still regard religion to be their prime preferences. A simple conclusion can be driven from the perspectives of these Universalists (Strentz, 2002). That is the prime reason behind implementing these rules is the preservation of human rights from all the so-called norms and traditions that are nothing but irrational and unethical.

The first prime factor, as discussed for which the implementation of a universal ethical system is very necessary is ...
