Introduction

Internet advertising or the online advertising is the use of the online resources and the internet in order to deliver and communicate the promotional messages and the marketing messages to the viewers and the consumers. There are several components of internet marketing such as email marketing, search engine marketing, display advertising, social media marketing, electronic banners, mobile advertising and other similar type of ways of marketing in which the use of the internet is essential. Like other mediums of advertising internet marketing also entails in it the publisher who incorporates and put together the advertising content in its online content. Apart from this internet marketing includes an advertiser who actually provides the advertisement for display on the content of the publisher. Other components of the internet advertising such as the technological delivery, placement of the ads, statistics, the generation and copying of the advertisement all is handled by the advertising agency.

Internet advertising is emerging as a large business and is also growing at a rapid pace. This is because the profits and revenues in this advertising are much more than any other mediums of the business. All the multinational firms and also the local firms today are using the internet advertising to increase the awareness of their products and services. The internet advertising is being used by the majority of the firms regardless of the industry, and the markets they are serving.

McDonalds: Company Overview and Business Line

McDonalds is the world largest chain of the fast food restaurant chain which is currently serving around 68 million fast food consumers on t daily basis all over the world. McDonalds is currently operating in 119 countries all over the world and the country of origin or is headquartered in America (McDonalds, 2013).

In the year 1940, the firm started its business with the barbecue restaurant and later after doing business for about 1948 the owner recognized that business to be of hamburgers. This was done considering the principles of the business line. In the year 1955, several businessmen joined the firm as franchisee agents and from that point those people started to purchase the franchises of the McDonalds. Today the main business line of McDonalds includes the selling of hamburgers along with several different types of chicken, beef and vegetable burgers and sandwiches. Moreover, it offers soft drinks, French fries, desserts, other beverages, breakfast items and ice creams in its menu. On the other hand, the firm also offers many types of salads and wraps along with vegetarian items to adopt the local tastes and food requirements of many markets in which it operates (McDonalds, 2013).

The menu of McDonalds is quiet different in the diversified markets especially in the markets of Asia. This is because of the religious and cultural reasons of those countries such as in India the beef is sacred, and so McDonalds offer different vegetable burgers and sandwiches in India.
