Emergency Management has been a detailed analysis and interpretation of the challenges and the problems that are experienced in the midst of disasters, contingencies and uncertainties that not only make way for a better outcome, but also call for undertaking the external, dominating influences that change the focus of attempts made in emergencies, making it difficult for companies and the international community to address the issues at hand, resorting their dissolution and the recovery measures post-damage of disasters.

Disaster Management and Recovery

Disaster Management regards a field and a discipline where methods, methodologies, theories, tools and techniques are being highlighted and identified in line with the changes and the challenges that have been occurring over the years (Anderson, 2011).

Over the past few decades, considering the weather conditions and the drastic climatic changes that have been experienced over the years being a serious bone of contention, not only has disaster management earned its reputation, but has now employed and earned the attention of companies, states and entire blocs of countries, who are now investing their skills and efforts in the line of managing disaster over the passage of time (Armitage & Moisan, 2005).

It, however, needs to be examined that disaster and its nature not only limit to the occurrences and the catastrophes that have rooted and surfaced through natural disasters, but also those that are man-made, driven by either political motives or targets stemming of crime and criminal origin.

Haddow and Bullock have clearly and vividly traced the occurrence and the challenges that are associated with disaster management, which not only makes way for a better outcome, but also calls for the use of tactics and strategies to avoid their occurrence and making a better understanding of all those events that have occurred over the years, causing dismay ...
