The human life is a very complex procedure, which is highly influenced by several factors in the immediate environment and the theological beliefs of the individuals. It is true that the social; sciences have to play a very vital role in the development of the human beings, however this factor cannot be termed as the primary influence on the lives of human beings. The main purpose of a person in the world is to develop a deep understanding of his basic objective in his life, and how he should form an intimate relationship with the creator (Estep & Kim, 2010). Hence the basic attitude and the behavior of the individuals from diverse societies must be in reference to their belief in God, and following the teachings of the religious text. In the context of the global society, there exist multiple religious groups, which follow a very different understanding of their religious responsibilities. Hence one cannot assume that every religious group has a relevant understanding of the link between theology and the human development, and the people should follow the teachings of the religion that they understand and believe to be the teachings of the creator.
The Christian theology is highly focused on the aspect of human development, and it provides a wide variety of religious scripture, instructing the believers to follow the morally correct lifestyles. The book 'Integrating Theology and human Development', highlights the significance of Christian theology in the lives of the followers, and how it can influence the human beings in the different phases of their lives. Since human beings have to experience a wide range of growing phases throughout their lives, the social sciences also have to be considered, in the comprehensive analysis of human development. Theology provides the basic guidelines for the human beings, to develop a deeper relationship with god, and builds a strong moral authority among these individuals. Hence theology can be identified as an essential component of the process of human development, and it plays a vital role in the general attitude and the personality of the people. Without the guidance of theology the human beings would not have the moral authority or the motivation to become more pious and religious individuals, who want to enhance their spirituality and seek a deeper relationship with the creator.
