Introduction

The coordination and assimilation of the various communication channels within a company gives way to integrated business communication. Today, more and more organizations are realizing the importance of this strategy and adapting it to gain maximum benefits, such as motivated employees, productive operations and competitive advantage. The core idea behind integrated business communication is to connect, communicate and collaborate using various devices and methods at any given time or place (Anonymous, 2007).

Communication Issues

The power of communication is essential in every walk of life, especially in the business arena. The role of an executive is crucial in the management of the company and his/her decisions can determine the success of a business. As a future executive, one of the most important communication issues that I'll face is the possibility of misunderstanding or misinterpretation of messages within the organization which is very common in an interconnected setup. Right framing of messages is another communication issue I'll have to look into. The right framing of messages is necessary to draw receiver's attention in a particular direction and influence action.

Every team player needs to gain full access to every bit of information in order to contribute and fully understand their roles and duties. I will have to make sure that there is no communication gap between the employees, everyone is on the same page, and the company has one voice (Stuart et. al., 2007). Other issues include, adapting to the changing needs of the customers and the business environment, overcoming cultural and language barriers of the diverse workforce as well as incorporating technology advancements into the organization (Anderson, n.d.). Moreover, my written communication skills have to be very strong in order to become an exemplary executive (Anonymous, 2006).
