Introduction

We are accustomed to the fact that Britain is a rich country; was, is and will be, and that here finances around the world feel comfortable. World of high technology, the latest fashion and the highest standard of football coexist with ancient Anglo-Saxon tradition of protecting private property, guarantees of freedom of speech and partnerships between civil society and government. Contrary to the geographical remoteness, lack of abundant natural resources, favorable climate and the loss of numerous colonies of Britain remains the leading economic power in the world with a population of nearly 60 million, gross national per capita income of $ 33,940 and GDP of $ 2.14 trillion. Britain is rightly included in the Group of Eight, the Security Council and the EU, but it was not always and it is not necessary that the British future would be as rosy. Discussion

The question of a strike (or strike), its position and role in modern society cannot be addressed without clarifying the social essence of this phenomenon is due to historically rooted in the productive forces of society and economic relations, its social structure and political organization, social and political movements, traditions, and national characteristics. Strike specific objectives: increasing wages, shorter hours, better working conditions, the possibility to work, etc. Thus the strike can be considered as social protest action, which is implemented in the protection of economic, social, and labor rights and interests of employees.
