The purpose of this research paper is to assess the impacts of the advancement in the transportation field. The research looks into the effects of cars on the individual lives as well as on societies. Furthermore, the management of the technology and its consequences as one of the environmental threat are discussed. Nonetheless, the result revealed that automobile emanation can pollute the air and the entire surroundings. (king, 2000) Emission of green house gases such as carbon dioxide from the cars results in global warming. Some Air contaminant and granular substance and powder can be dumped on earth and on the upper layer of water; where they contaminate the eatables. These matters can cause a great threat to the general health of all the creatures. It further discuses how automobile advancement and better transport systems bring about great change in combating environmental hazards. It is by incorporation of technologies in the automobile industry, we can lead to clean and fresh environment and long-term maintenance of the metropolis around the globe. (Bell, 2006.)
Problem Statement
Current trend of personalized automobile has been resulted in the increase of cars, there are approximately 806 million cars and small trucks on the streets of the entire world as cited in the “worldometers.” When the engine of a car is in the start mode, it releases various gases and elements that play a significant role in the contamination of the environment and well being of the human being. Note worthy are the carbon dioxide; a green house gas, hydro carbon, and several impetuous crude composites. For instance carcinogens, nitrogen oxide, sulfur oxide and particular matter (PM), minute concrete elements such as soot and metal; as cited in the article “How does car pollution effect the environment and the Ozone Layer?” by Jennifer King. There is a close relation between environment and modes of transportation; the question arises that “Are the growing numbers of cars responsible for the increasing air pollution in the urban areas?”
Introduction
History of the Private Automobiles (Clair, 1986, p.1&2) At the mid of the nineteenth century, in the era of Mass Production, private cars began to be seen on the roads. In 1956, Federal Interstate and Defense Highway System came into being, building of this network of hurdle free roads and highways made travelling easy for the common commuters. And the urban communities which were aloof in the suburbs of rural community now have free access to the rural areas of the state. By the provisions of freeways and private automobiles, a growing trend of private transport had been substituted by public transport. In 1960, the dramatic change in the mode of transportation brought changes to the society as the way of living of common citizen is entirely ...
