Stakeholder Identification and Value Analysis

Is IBM value proposition feasible? Can it be done within the currently accepted societal framework of how we treat each other? Does it operate at Level 1 (do minimum harm) or Level 3 (do maximum good)?

The value proposition of IBM is based on the following three points:

Dedication to the success of our clients.

Innovations that have importance.

Trust and responsibility in every relationship.

IBM focuses on these three points in order to provide value propositions to its customers in a different manner, based on the requirement of the customers. This strategy of providing value proposition to its customers differently based on the needs and requirements of their customers is because of the consideration of the fact that each and every organization is different and has different needs and requirements. This is visible by the different set of value proposition that IBM offers in different sectors, such as, having different value proposition in software's to the value proposition that its offers in networking field to its customers (Catalyst Paper Corporation, 2007). Therefore, it can be said that the strategy adopted by IBM in this regard is feasible, considering the fact that in the modern world, organizations are so much diversified that the needs and requirements of each and every organization are different based on the structure of their organizations. Therefore, it becomes important for service providers in this regard, such as IBM, to offer different value propositions to different organizations working in different fields, based on the differential needs and requirements of the organizations.

Moreover, it can be said that, yes, this can be done within the currently accepted societal framework of how we treat each other. This is said because of the fact that in the modern world, the societal framework is based on dealing each other differently based on the importance that one has, as well as, the needs and requirements of each and every individual has in this regard (Catalyst Paper Corporation, 2007).

Furthermore, it can be said that the value proposition of IBM can be said to be operating at Level 3, which is based on the concept of “do maximum good”. This is said because of the fact that by dealing with every organization differently, based on the needs and requirements of each and every organization, in regard to value proposition, it can be said that IBM is operating at Level 3, “do maximum good”, which is also visible through the values that IBM has adopted based on the three points, dedication to the success of their clients, Innovations that have importance and creating and maintaining trust and relationship in each and every relationship (Catalyst Paper Corporation, 2007).

Is there support for the proposition from those groups that are affected? Is there a process for gaining stakeholder cooperation and support for proposition? Is value created for each stakeholder group in a synergistic way, avoiding excessive trade-offs?
