They, with their hard work and dedication make the company flourish and help it in reaching new heights. This is the reason that the employees are regarded as one of the most important people in the organization. It is important for the company to hire proper people and once they are hired, they should be able to retain them. This paper will discuss the employee competency and the use of proper tools for selection and retention purposes.
The organization measures the employee competency for ensuring that the employees are the in the best capability to work for the betterment of the organization and for making sure that the people working the organization are working hard and for making sure that whatever they do will benefit the organization and will always make sure that the organization expands and grows (Kennedy, 2005). By ensuring that the employee has the competency and is able to work in a manner that will benefit the company, the company ensures that there are people who are working for the betterment of the company and are doing their best for ensuring that the company grows and expands. This will also ensure that the people who are working are doing so in the best of their capability.
If an employee is incompetent, the organization will first make sure that it trains them so that they are able to match the standards of the other employees and will also make sure that they are the ones who will do their best to match the interest of the company. There are different types and levels of competencies; therefore, the company will have to make sure that it determines which employee is in which level and type of competency and then take steps for making the employee competent (Kennedy, 2005).
