1.1Recruitment procedure

Job seekers must rely on their beliefs about an employer when deciding whether or not to apply for a job, to sign up for an interview, or to accept a position with a prospective employer. Thus, fundamentally, what job seekers know about employers, or their organizational knowledge, determines whether employers will be successful in recruiting. In this section of the chapter, we review two different types of knowledge that job seekers have about employers: the familiarity of an organization to job seekers, and job seekers' beliefs about an employer's image. We then use these two types of knowledge to consider how small businesses are often handicapped during the recruitment process.

In order to plan an effective recruitment process it is necessary that the recruitment department of the University of Warwick follows an effective recruitment step by step process, the steps for which are given as under:

.1.1.1Step # 1 - Knowing your targeted individuals

In order to effectively hire a person for the job being open, it is essential that the recruiters are well aware of the job responsibilities of the job for which the individual is being recruited. Furthermore, it is important to know about these job responsibilities in detail so that one can design or plan a selection criteria as according to those specifications or in other words by looking for those particular specifications in a personal.

1.1.2Step # 2 - Advertising for the Hiring Post

The advertising for the hiring post should be targeted specifically towards the targeted individuals so that the right people are attracted towards this job post and therefore the advertising for the post should be specific as accurately as possible towards these particular individuals.

1.1.3Step # 3 - Employment Branding

In order to attract the right and the potential candidates towards the post being advertised by the brand, it is important that the brand has a favorable image or perceptions in the minds of the potential candidates on the basis of which these potential candidates feel like applying towards the brand (Shahzad, et. al, pp. 302-315).

1.1.4Step # 4 - Learning target market's search procedure

This is an effective step as it identifies as to where the potential target market of the university might be searching for, as for their potential job opportunities. It is important that the job is being advertised on those forums particularly through which the target market is searching for the jobs, otherwise it would just mean to waste many valuable resources.

1.1.5Step # 5 - Reaching out to potential non-active candidates

Most of the highly potential candidates for the job are not looking out for jobs as they are already working anywhere, the job being advertised might be appealing to them than their current one but still they do not get to know about it because they are simply not looking.
