The purpose of this study is to expand the boundaries of the author's knowledge by exploring some relevant facts related to Human resource issues and challenges at L-3. Human resource management or simply the HR is the management of an entity's human resources. At L-3 It is accountable for the selection, training and development, appraisal, and rewarding of employees. It is also responsible for the administration of organizational culture and ensuring compliance with applicable laws (Employment and Labor Laws). Situations in which an employees are provided a platform to address their concerns by the organization such as (labor unions), HR is responsible to liaison with them and address their concerns.
HR is considered to be a product of the human relations movement during the 20th century, when experts started documenting ways of creating business importance through the strategic management of its human resource. Initially it was just the payroll and other benefits administration, but due to a drastic increase in globalization, mergers between organizations and technology advancements HR is now responsible to oversee the implications of all the above on human resource (Jackson, 2002).
In the next section, the author will give a brief overview of L-3 communications, the human resource challenges the company is facing, and the major legal concerns of the organization. Finally, the author will determine how the organization should address current (or anticipated) human resource issues concerning expanding into international markets.4. Make recommendations concerning how the organization can leverage its human resources to come out on top in a highly competitive environment.
