Introduction
Strategic Human Resource planning is one of the most important elements of Strategic Human Resource. This creates connectivity between the human resource department and the strategic plan of the organization. Achieving the mission of the organization cannot be possible without establishing well formulated strategic goals and supporting them with SHRP (Simms, 2005). Most organizations that fail to achieve their mission have been found to be focused on financial planning so much that they tend to ignore the equally important workforce planning.

The organizational plans of the organization as well as its strategic plans cannot be met if the organizatins does not employ adequate human resource. For instance, the long term strategic goal of Tesco is to increase market penetration in the existing markets while expanding into other geographical arenas. The number of human resource employed and the quality of the human resource are two of the most important determinants of Tesco's ability to achieve its long term goals for it is the people that are responsible for delivering quality service to its valued customers and making their grocery and shopping experience worth it (Mathis, 2011).

The success of an organization is based on the organization's strategic ability to be able to perform at a level that will make it stand apart in the industry it operates in. this means that the organization has ample human resource to carry out the functions of the organization efficiently, has adequate funds to support operations and has the right processes that give it a competitive advantage for comprehensive win.
Tesco is one of the largest retailers in the world and the biggest employer in the UK. It caters to a vast target audience through its over 2 million people employed for the 8500 outlets across the globe. These outlets are operational in fifteen countries across the globe. It has captured the second place on the basis of revenue (Gary, 2011).
In addition, it is also important to note that the mission of the organization should be such that it acts as a driving force for the employees and guides them exactly where they are headed. Each employee should believe in the organization's mission and live it every minute of his time on job.
