The term 'homeless' refers to a person having no home. Some people do not have homes and roof over their head. These kinds of people spend their days on streets and sleeps on roads, night buses or doorways. This research is based on the issues faced by homeless people and effects of homelessness on their social life.

Introduction
Everyone has a right to have standards of living, sufficient for the well-being of himself and also of his family. Every person carries equal rights to have basic necessities of life including food, education, clothing, shelter, health and care. Unfortunately, some of the people are unable to have these facilities and above of all majorities are unable to have a proper housing and therefore, suffers from homelessness. In some cases, we cannot recognize homeless people as they usually spend time in spare rooms, friend's sofa or in squats. Homeless family or person has no housing at all, or they spend their lives in a temporary shelter. These people often live in parks, on streets, in temporary accommodations or in vehicles. There are a number of reasons behind homelessness including poverty, unemployment or job loss, shortage of affordable housing and natural disasters. Homelessness has great impacts on society. It does not only affect the individual but also affect the political, social and economic condition of any country (Boston Partnership for Older Adults, 2003).

Homelessness is the biggest problem across the globe. It is greatly affecting the economic and social life of the entire world. Homelessness is the greatest hurdle in the development of any country as the economy and development of any country depends on its people. Homelessness has devastating impacts on individuals as well as on families. There are various causes behind homelessness including poverty, unemployment, Foreclosure, mental illness, drug addiction, sudden loss of any loved one and financial crises etc. the solutions of homelessness can be recognized by the identification of reasons behind homelessness (Broadway, 2004).
Types of homelessness
Homelessness has various types including temporary homelessness, circumstantial homelessness and long term homelessness. All three types of homelessness have different causes and factors. Types of homelessness are briefly described below:
Temporary homelessness
Temporary homelessness occurs when a person or a family lost their homes, but they do not stay homeless for a long time period. Temporary homelessness may occur due to natural disasters such as cyclones, tsunami, and earth quacks etc (Anderson, Fernandes, Green, Greene, Greenberg, Mays, et al., 2003).
Circumstantial homelessness
Circumstantial homelessness is the homelessness occurs due to the sudden change in financial or medical circumstances including job loss or any severe disease. The people suffers from this type of homelessness may remain homeless for a short time period, but eventually they retain their housing after sometime (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2002).
