It is hard for any cognitive mind, to bring itself to believe that a country, who eloquently announces and presages the aid and human development of the rest of the world, is itself the victim of varying social matters. A naïve person is bound to ponder over the fact that when our own people are suffering to some degree, why the outsiders are being given the preferences and the tag of ultimate victims, when the victims also reside in the most developed country of the world.

Amongst the most vital social problems, which the population of this country faces, is the issue of the homeless people. No sound living can be acquired until unless a person possesses a designated place to spend his life. It is rather hard for a person even to think of other necessities of life, as long as this pressing matter lingers on inside the mind. The reason why this issue is rated as one of the biggest social issues of our country does not only revolve around the fact that it is the right of every individual, being part of an independent and developed state, to possess a sound dwelling, but also because this issue gives birth to other dire issues, which play a pivotal role in unbalancing other issue directly associated with it.

The aim of this paper primarily revolves around enlightening its readers regarding the history and the pivotal facts about this problem; the actual estimation of the population suffering from this issue and the imperative measures undertaken by not only the government but also other non governmental institutes serving humanity. Moreover, the paper will also discuss a thorough analysis of existing interventions and programs, regarding this pressing matter, and the amount being spent on it, and the proposed plans and their implementation by the respective authorities. The paper also intends to cover the ideologies of the suffering groups, respective bills, the political environment and their strategies, followed by the recommendation, regarding the homeless people in America.

It was until recently that the media and other relevant institutions had the morality and the fortitude to bring across this dire issue to the limelight and to compel the respective responsible resources to take imperative measures to tackle the issue of homelessness and pay heed to the cries of the sufferers. However, the victims of homelessness and their lives had been wrecked to the core. In the past there had been numerous policies, which escalated the homelessness in America; for instance, the increased cuts in the social services and the housing brought almost twenty thousand to fifty thousand people on the road in the 80s.
