Rights Of Homeless People

Introduction

Homeless people face discrimination on a regular bases day and are often told they should get a job so they wouldn't be on the streets. The problem with homeless people getting jobs is that a lack of respect for homeless people's human rights may take many forms, including discrimination. For example, a homeless person looking for a place to live may be told a property is not available, but another person with a current address is told they can rent it(Mitchell 183).

The United Nations implemented a universal declaration of human rights. Article 25 Section 1 of this declaration states:“ Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing, and medical care and necessary social services, and to the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.”If a homeless person registers with an unemployment agency. Since there is no way for them to call him/her when a job comes up the unemployment agency calls them - three, four times a day. If they confess there is no way to reach them, they lose interest.

Discussion

Misery. Poverty. Despair. When these elements were presented in the context of the photograph, it was questioned. These elements are a reality in general context of humanity. To deny that they exist or that certain people embody them more than others is to deny the truth. Why should a series of pictures from a park or from a city exclude a photograph of a homeless person, street performer, or religious zealot?
