The High Middle Ages: The Papal Monarchy and the Religious Orders

The High Middle Ages was a period between the 11th and 13th century. During this period, the population of Europe witnessed a change as the population as it doubled in a period of 200 years. This period witnessed growth in the agricultural and technological sectors as improved methods were devised to grow crops. Most of the people were farmers and they were self sufficient in their food.
