HIV AIDS is a disorder primarily associated with sexual intercourse. The transmission of AIDS takes place through the unsafe and unprotected sexual practice. This is facilitated by having condomless sexual practice. It is evident that the risks of contracting AIDS reduce with the use of condoms and safe sexual practices. The people involved in unsafe sexual practices are often driven by economical oppressions, poor financial conditions, substandard health conditions and the use of intravenous drugs. The HIV transmits through intimated relationships along with the exposures to contaminated blood and devices. Unprotected sex and unsafe sexual practices promotes high HIV risks.

The African-American women who were participants of the survey on the “potential risks of transmitting HIV”, idealizes monogamy and loyal partners. The African-American women feel that in monogamy, they are not at risk of HIV infection. Unsafe practice of sex is an adaptive and distrustful practice. To reduce the transmission of HIV infection there is a need of developing such strategies that promotes the use of condoms.

The women's dependence on men should be reduced. There is an utmost desire to educate the women of inner cities about the transmission risks of HIV/AIDS. These women are most susceptible to the HIV/AIDS. They are indulged in unsafe sex practices because of poor economical and financial conditions. Women often practice unsafe sex methods because of revenge and jealousies. They make their spouse jealous of their sexual relations with other. Hence it proves that the unsafe practices of sex are also driven by the psychological and social factors. There are also some factors like lust for love and sexual urges, and desire of having a baby that promotes the unsafe practices of sex.

To reduce the risk of transmission of AIDS there is a need of educating the masses. This is a fact that the use of condoms is not increased by just educating the masses. There is a need of cultural discussions. The awareness campaigns and programs must take steps to promote the awareness of safer sexual practices. Self efficacy is also a method of reducing the risk of HIV transmission. The women who lack self efficacy get involved in unsafe sex practices. It is the self control of the people that can protect a person from indulging in unsafe practices of sex. “The Health Belief Model (HBM) “
