In this paper, I will discuss a plan that will help increase data gathering, utilization and management techniques of health care. In the first section, a solution proposed that uses internet and software applications to develop a system incorporating many features. The second part deals with the implementation plan. The characteristics included, and issues raised are discussed, and the sources needed to achieve the plan are highlighted. Evaluation is an essential part of any plan; therefore, the last section deals with the evaluation methods and the subsequent problems faced.

Proposed Solution

The internet has proved to be a revolutionary technology, which devised new ways to interact with humans, as well as, machines. The role of internet in health care management can be increased, and it can be utilized improve decision making, accessing information, and communication. The internet can enhance data based decision making, but a synergy between improvements and decision making should be developed (Jadad, 1998). Decision making can be made fast, cheap and efficient, where information will be up-to-date, and the database will be relevant and readily available. The time consumed in extracting information will be very less, and the format attained will be as desired. The principles and tools of evidence-based practice in medicine can be adopted to understand the role of internet in improving health care.

Evidence-based decision making is using conscientious, explicit and judicious considerations of the data in formulating health care decisions (Sackett et al., 1997). Some of the developments that are taking place in the evidence based decision making are presented, along with the improvements that can be offered. There are several difficulties in achieving the growth, but the possibilities are tremendous. Keeping in view the advantages which can be achieved, the challenges must be overcome in an efficient way.
