Introduction

A healthy and safe working environment leads to healthy and motivated employees. Employees who are healthy and safe working are sick less often, arched or disability, are more motivated and generally perform better. This saves employers unnecessarily high morbidity and replacement costs and insurance premiums (Goetsch, 2011, p.34). This paper demonstrates the health and safety in health and social care workplace with respect to risk assessment and monitoring.

To promote safe and healthy work it is important that employers inform their employees of their rights and obligations and maintain. It is also important that employers perform a structural, adequate and up-to-date health and safety policy. It is recommended to your health and safety policy in cooperation with the works council or employee representation set (Dollard et al., 2010, p.580).

Health and safety of employees includes:

Preventing the possible risk of injury or damage to persons or clients.

Evaluation of the necessary safety measures to eliminate dangerous radiation sources, reducing the risk of technological and organizational measures and the use of personal protective equipment.

The constant use of security measures to ensure the reduction of the risk of injury and damage to health.

Providing a safe and supportive working environment for employees in accordance with the nature of its activities, using appropriate, ergonomic equipment to provide opportunities for work (Curtis, 2012).

Preventive medical examinations and the reception staff to the positions given the state of their health.

Periodic monitoring, evaluation and reporting on the health and safety of employees in the work, including the objectives and programs of improvement.

Policies Health and Safety in Health and Social Care Workplace
