Hate Crimes

Introduction

There are various crimes committed only on the basis of personal biases or hatred. Sometimes these biases are against a single person or some times against a community or the whole society(Broyles, 2009, p.4). These crimes are generally targeted against a particular race or due to prejudice against other ethnic or religious group. There are also evidences of a particular social behavior which leads to the killing of particular sex. Criminology departments, government and various law enforcement agencies are taking particular actions against these crimes but instead of decrease in these crimes there is still increase in hate crimes. The example of social hate crimes is the Ku Klux Klan which is an organized community that originated after world War II against the black Americans and especially when they demanded for their freedom. Their main purpose was to oppose these people but later they involved in various criminal and illegal activities. These hate crimes consist of criminal activities like vandalism, assault, and murder. This requires the proper understanding of the proper reasons and factors behind these hate crimes. It is not the crime that needs to be prevented these are the factors and causes that lead to these crimes. If it is essential to stop these crimes the most essential step is to stop the reasons for these crimes.
