Introduction

The purpose of the paper is to enlighten and explore an organization named as Arab Resource Organizing Center. The organization is just like an NGO (non-governmental organization) that works of the betterment of Arab rights in the United States. The core objective of the organization is to facilitate the rights of the Arabs in the United States and other countries in which the immigrated Arabs lead their lives. Moreover, the organization also strives to agitate against any discriminatory action against the Arab residents in different countries. The organization is not virtual its physical existence has been realized.

Nonetheless, the realization of the organization was acknowledged in 2007. The concept of the organization is a bit old; however, its existence has been witnessed few years back. The organization's inception is associated with the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee which is an institution that has been fighting for Arab rights since many years. There are several initiatives taken by AROC for protection of Arab rights; moreover, the operations of the organization have effectively hindered and minimized discriminatory actions and events against the Arabs in the United States and other countries around the globe.

The History and Background of AROC

Arab Resource and Organizing Center does not have an elongated history. The existence of the organization was realized in the year 2007. The organization extracted as a sub-branch of another organization named as American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee of San Francisco. ADC-SF was found in the year 1987. The purpose of existence behind the inception of this organization was same as of AROC. The organization served as a leader ensuring Arab rights and regulations in order to prohibit their violation in San Francisco. ADC-SF empowered the Arab rights in San Francisco Bay Area. Moreover, the organization was engaged in protecting the civil rights of Arab residents in the area. Nevertheless, the organization was engaged in agitations against the racial profiling aimed at Arab residents in the United States; especially, after the incident of 9/11. Nonetheless, the organization prohibited the hate crimes aimed at Arab immigrants.

The operations and activates executed by the organization ensured that the discrimination aimed at the Arabs must stop. In addition, the organization strongly opposed all war and occupation. The operations of the organization were not only aimed at the discrimination and biasness against the Arab residents in the United States; however, the organization existed to ensure the educational and academic rights of the Arab immigrants. There are several discriminatory actions aimed at the Arab immigrants. The Arabs not only suffer in the civil society due to the incident of 9/11; but, they are also encountering several issues in academic and professional care (Boosahda, 2003, 108-123).

The organization is engaged in creating awareness regarding the biasness issues and discrimination against Arabs in the United States.
