Hate crime as defined by the United States' Department of Justice is the violent behavior of racism with the purpose of hurting someone and to threaten someone for the reason of their religion, nationality, race, disability, ethnicity or sexual orientation. The issue of these types of crimes is not a new; it has been with us since time, the problem we are facing with it is complexity in finding the truthful report of the range of incidents that are taking place. Finding perfect statistics and cases of hate crime is very hard, by which to identify trend, theme, and extract conclusion. A lot of victims of hate crimes do not report the crime and some are reported as civil problems. Sue from one individual against another individual do not documented as such.
