In this writing we have discussed about the changing trend in the growth of population in U.S. Few decades back it was observed that the rate at which the young population is growing seems to be affected adversely and the rate at which the population of old people was increasing seems to have an upward trend. This shows that in coming years there will be more old people in the United States than the young people which will result in age difference in the population of the country. It was an alarming situation for the government and people of U.S. as they will be needing more people on job as employee to feed the nation but if there will be less number of young people in the county obviously old people have to work in various organization which will increase the retirement time period and decrease the productivity and quality of goods and services then produce. Therefore various campaigns for awareness about this problem was launched in various states of U.S. so that the citizens of the country can focus on their family structure and a proper birth rate can be maintained. It is obvious that the working capability of young people is comparatively more than that of an old person. Therefore there will be need of more manpower if the employees are of an older age and there are more chances of increase in the wastage of resource also as they are not as much effective as a young person.
Thesis Statement
With increasing population of old people in the U.S. arise the economic and social problems.
General approach to the TTD (Demographic Transition Theory)
The existence of a historical break in population dynamics is TTD. The main constraint, since time immemorial, had been poor human survival (one fifth of infants dying before their first birthday, and almost half could not come alive to adolescence). Suddenly, economic progress would have reached a breaking humeral triggered this dynamic demographic, the "old demographic regime", through various stages, always in the same order, and ending in a stable demographic regime with very different characteristics (high survival and the low birth rate). The sequence of changes described, but also predicts, is historically very recent. European countries have been the most advanced in log (the pioneers back in the eighteenth century), but has been playing progressively in all countries of the world. Most would have delayed the transition started only in the second half of the twentieth century, and the TTD should serve to predict the future phases of its evolution(Andersen & Taylor, 2008).
The schematic representation of the three stages TTD and population history
The old demographic regime (the pre-transitional), characterized by mortality and very high birth rate, with little growth. It is virtually the entire history of mankind until recently. Generally identified with pre-industrial economy.
Transition, which initially reduces mortality (especially infant and caused by epidemics and famines), population growth accelerates and finally also the birth ...
