This industry includes the production of floriculture and horticulture crops (Johnson and Christensen, 1995). The main components of the green industry are green house, non-fuel based engines, energy efficiency, renewable energy, recycling, pollution management, and emission of wastes from the environment.

The increased awareness and education about the climate changes, global warning, and other affects to the natural resources started in the early 21st century. This created a significant demand for the initiation of the green industry. The green industry also started like other social and political movements in the history of the world. The green industry movement has its origin from Europe, but many scholars maintain that the movement emerged from the United States of America (Harrington et. al, 2003). The green movements paced up due to the support and collaboration of various organizations all over the globe to provide with solutions that can contribute to the betterment of the environment.

Green industry is not a trend, it is a movement. Every step of the green industry is towards a greener and sustainable environment. The consumers can gain various benefits from the concept of green industry. They can green their home, their businesses, or can green their life by the adoption of green products and processes in their life style. There are a variety of brands that are only manufacturing and marketing green products. This is not contributing for the consumers to maintain a healthy life style by using green products like eatables, cosmetics, etc. The other benefits that consumers have gained from the concept of green industry are green materials, green incentives, energy efficient technologies, and green living (Vernekar and Wadhwa, 2011). Organic food productions are serving the consumers with nutritious meals. Consumers are becoming more educated and can more efficiently care about themselves by finding the products that meet their requirements.

In the early industries the workers were treated inappropriately and were often beaten. There were long working hours and a lot of involvement of child labor. A lot of workers were killed and injured due to lack in safety measures in the industry. Job exportation has created more markets and opportunities to make trade among the developed countries. The world is now a global village and the organizations are operating in a multi-cultural environment. The job exportation has helped the workers to extract more opportunities and get more appropriate jobs as per their desires. This has also provided the workers with better working conditions (Riker, 2010).
