The authors in the article are bringing light on the inequalities in society and how they affect education and health of people. Sociology of social inequality is one of the key research areas of sociology. In the last decades, it can be well developed theoretically and methodologically. Societies are facing the need to justify the contrast between the principle of equality and actual inequality. Some inequalities may appear legitimate because they only seem to arise from the efforts and talents of individuals placed initially under conditions of equality of opportunity. The unequal distribution of income can be largely explained by education. Thus, while primary and secondary education has relatively small effects on income, each additional year of education than they generate exponential increases. Therefore, the lack of gradation in the impact of education on labor income strongly marks the distribution of income.

In general consensus, the income regarded as years of education, plays a central role in determining the income. However, their relative importance in increasing inequality income is not yet clear, since, while education has led to changes in income inequality in other countries, establishing a negative relationship, this has been different in developing countries by establishing an inverse relationship (Wilkinson and Pickett, 2011, 9).

In the article, authors want to measure and examine income inequality on some of its causes in the market economies. They can be concerned primarily with the earned income which varies due to differences of capacity, intensity labor occupations, among other factors and perhaps the most important which is the amount of human capital. The education can be specifically intended to detect the most deserving and promotion to the best seats. It should give everyone a chance, and in social inequalities, inequities in school are, for that very reason, seen as particularly intolerable: they are not only unequal among others, as well as a belt reproduction of inequalities, particularly undermining meritocratic ideology (Meighan, 1997, 54).
