Freedom of Speech

Introduction

The basic concept of freedom of speech comes from tradition that refers to the total freedom of action and word, except when it involves the use of force and fraud against other individuals. This notion of freedom speaks directly to respect for private and does not contain any explicit element of government (Marlin, 2002). It suggests that the role of government is to contain the use of force and deception, not only individuals but also in those to whom is entrusted the power to govern and are armed with a monopoly of force that power brings.

Cases
