In New York, in 1980, there was an important world congress entitled "Stress Detective" in which character exhibitors attended the best psychologists and psychiatrists in North America and Europe. Guests at this summit were organized by World Health Organization, various governors, mayors, police chiefs, police and medical departments of each city. In the same conference, it was officially recognized that police work is one of many more stressful occupations at risk. The nature of this was mentioned in the strengthening of the Act due to the high incidence of family problems, divorce, domestic abuse, alcoholism, heart disease, depression syndrome and so on. Police personnel usually faces the worst examples of human behavior, and yet, society, government and the institution itself expect the best from them, although the effectiveness of its functions in routine work with people belligerent, psychotic, dangerous people and sentient beings with the needs of people who are openly adverse to them. In addition, they claimed in their daily actions that are respectful, attentive and considerate towards all, even when faced with severe provocation. For many, living in accordance with these expectations requires considerable repression and emotional adjustment. Recent investigations conducted in different Latin American police departments, confirm that the institutions themselves do not make a strong psychological monitoring of their own men can get these to have a state of chronic stress. This kind of stress inherent in the police profession (Latin American) plus a number of businesses hardship in which they work. (Most inhuman) conditions can increase the risk of chronic disease and consequently have fatal consequences for themselves or others. The hiding of emotions is one of the main causes of stress that is related to this work. Many police officers are already suffering from stress and the immediate action needs to be taken to reduce the stress levels as soon as possible. The experts had shown that education and training among others, has helped significantly reduce the problem of those who suffer from stress. It also stressed the importance that the police man or woman, learn to recognize and manage stress early in his career. This way they can avoid the possible behavior, emotional and physical damage caused by stress promptly referred to the police face. (Cox, 1988)
