Focus Group Discussion

Executive Summary

As focus groups are discussions in small group that are guided by the facilitator, they are used for learning the opinions about the participants on a specific topic. The composition and discussion of the group should be planned in a way that the participants can freely talk and their opinions. This is the reason why focus group method has been used to determine the level of satisfaction among the students for the current activities that are taking place in the university. The improvements that can be done in these activities along with the new activities that should be initiated in the university can also be determined through focus group.

In order to conduct focus group, a discussion guide has been developed along with the set of instructions for the facilitator to guide him through the interviews. The data collected from the interview will be analyzed using Chi-square that though which the difference between the observed and expected results will be conducted. It will also help to determine the reason why some of the improvements and initiatives will benefit the students and their level of satisfaction will also increase.

The expected findings of this study are that by introducing the different types of activities which include Volunteering in America, Work Placements, Rural Development Project in Developing Countries and Women Rights in Developing Countries, the level of satisfaction among the students will increase and their knowledge and the feeling of social responsibility will also increase.
