Evaluating/solving a problem Task

Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to identify some problem and then based on the circumstances and situations find the solution to this problem. The management related problem selected in this paper is the conflict management problem.

Target Audience

The target audience for my report is the different leaders and managers of the organizations having the authorities of managing the conflicts in their respective domains.

Identification of Problem

In the organizations, conflict is considered to be the most important problem. This conflict can occur either between the staff in the organizations or between the staff and the management of the organizations. The conflict between the staff can be easily communicated, whereas the conflict between the management and the staff is mostly silent, because the staffs do not easily communicate their conflicts to the management easily. Conflict in any place occurs because of the different values, interests and beliefs. These conflicts can be either good or bad for the management, but most of the times it is taken as bad. Because of the conflicts in the management, the productivity of the organization can be low. One of the important problems that occur because of the conflicts in the organization is that it reduces the group working abilities of the employees. The employees having the conflicts against each other cannot work in a group. There can be different reasons that lead towards the conflict in the organization. The most popular and important cause is the scarcity of resource. These resourced can either be finance, facilities or the equipments. Another reason can be the difference in the values, beliefs and the attitudes and perceptions between the staff to staff or between staff to management. The poor communication can also lead towards the conflicts. The other reasons are lack of clarity in the job description of the employees, the disagreement about the goals, needs, interests and priorities, lack of team work and the poor or inadequate organizational structure.

The conflict in the organization is an open form of existence of contradicts of the interests arising in the process of interaction between people in matters of production and personal.

The forerunner of the conflict in the organization is the social tension in the team. There are several points of view on the nature of social tension.

In the analysis of conflict it is important to understand what actions underlie it. Parties to the conflict of the irrational type (derived from the heat of passion, anger, panic, etc.) are ignoring the calculation, the ratio of potential gains and losses.

Internal conflicts arise within the organization (enterprise) and are resolved usually through existing standards and agreements, i.e., so-called rules of the game, taken at a certain level and between the parties concerned. These conflicts include:

1) Inter-individual conflict - It is a disagreement between the personal goals of employees. An example of such conflict may be a conflict between the authoritarian style of management leadership and the desire of some subordinate to the initiative and creativity;
