In the Euthyphro, Socrates and Euthyphro discuss the concept of piety/holiness. Euthyphro was asked by Socrates to provide the definition of piety and holiness, for the reason that the earlier definitions given by him did not appear to be correct which mentioned that whatever gods approve is considered holy. It was complained by Euthyphro that the arguments presented by Socrates went around in circles and did not stay intact so he was unable to understand his position with regards to the definition of holiness.
