Introduction

When discussing the topic of ethics, it is very difficult for a person to distinguish it from morality. In general, the term 'ethics' describes well=grounded standards of what is right and what is wrong. These standards prescribe actions for humans based on the principles of righteousness, virtuosity, obligations, and fairness (Ridley, 1998). There are three main theories on ethics - virtue theory, utilitarianism, and deontological ethics. These theories have certain similarities and a wide range of differences which are all explained in this paper.
