Introduction

The paper discusses about the idea of ethical dilemmas in organizational context in a holistic context. It first attempts to explain the concept of ethical dilemmas in organization in a comprehensive manner. It then proceeds on to the task of explaining the ethical dilemma by concisely highlighting the legal, moral and ethical as well as the organizational viewpoints of two different organization based scenarios provided.

Discussion

Ethical dilemma is defined as an ethical and moral decision-making situation in which several activities are offered at the same time, however, they are mutually exclusive (Ferrell & Fraedrich, 2012). The observance of one requirement leads to the violation of the other. In other words, the observance of the right people at the same time leads to the violation of the right thing. Ethics is a branch of philosophy that includes the study of morality, virtue, duty and living well. Ethics identifies, examines and defines what is moral, based on previously established a distinction between what is good or bad, and how to rationally justify moral systems from the deeds of man, where interact freely and consciously with men and with the surrounding environment, is the protagonist (Ferrell & Fraedrich, 2012).

The two situations mentioned are given on the next page with the three aspects of ethical dilemma that have to be discussed for each situation.

Scenario 1:

Legal Viewpoint

From the legal point of view, this is almost impossible as the drinking age set has been done by the government and there is nothing much that can be done. The legal aspects of things cannot be influenced greatly by one or two organizations. Legally a lobbying effort will not yield any possible results.
