Summary

Lymphocytes are cellular components of blood. They include the B-cells, T cells and natural killer cells and belong to the so-called "white blood" (leukocytes). In adults, lymphocytes are about 20 to 50 percent of leukocytes in peripheral blood, i.e., outside the blood-forming organs. These cells are located mainly in the lymphoid organs. They have receptors for antigen and, therefore, can recognize and respond to them at present.
