Abstract

The city of Biloxi needs a comprehensive fire apparatus and equipment replacement plan in order to deal with the emergency situations caused in the city. The proposed apparatus and equipment replacement plan considers the requirements of funding and finances by the budget team of the city with respect to the implementation of a scheduled and timely apparatus and equipment replacement plan. The appropriate funding will help the fire department of Biloxi to meet their current and future requirements. The city of Biloxi is vulnerable to the emergency situations such as hurricane Katrina which also requires fire fighting services to be provided to the community. The report analyzes the need for an effective apparatus and equipment replacement plan for the city of Biloxi, the factors that motivates the fire department to deploy an apparatus and equipment replacement plan and the life expectancies of the different units used in the fire fighting services. It also discusses the financial plan and funding method that will be used to fund the apparatus and equipment replacement programme. The reach study focuses on secondary data collection method to report the issues and identify the solutions to the problems while implementing an apparatus and equipment replacement plan. A descriptive methodology is used to analyze and then report the current status of the financial viability and prospects of the fire department of Biloxi, Mississippi fire rescue. It helped in the implementation and funding of the apparatus and equipment replacement plan for the city fire district in Biloxi, Mississippi. Along with this, the current or existing apparatus and equipment's costs and procedures were analyzed and recorded to identify the difference in between the current costs and the book value with the estimated replacement costs of equipments and apparatus used or fire rescue services. It is crucial for Biloxi to implement an apparatus and equipment replacement plan that is timely and scheduled.

Introduction

The city of Biloxi located in the Harrison County, Mississippi does not hold a proper and comprehensive fire equipment and apparatus replacement program that is intended to provide enhanced fire fighting services to the people of the city. The city of Biloxi need to have a recognized programs of equipment and apparatus replacement in order to deal with the fire rescue situation and the emergencies in which fire extinguishing materials are required. The city holds apparatus and equipments in the fire fighting department but a replacement program is not in working which prevents its ability to enhance the seamless services of firefighting in the region.
