Introduction

It is not possible for an organisation to survive without an effective and appropriate training process, which is designed for managing and fulfilling the training needs of the existing as well as the new employees. In today's world, with the spread of awareness about the importance of the training and development of employees, the majority of the organisations are focusing on employee training. Training has became one of the most efficient and effective method of attaining a competitive advantage over the competitors. Proper training is essential for the organisation as it helps in improving the performance of the staff and motivates the teams to fulfill the organisational goals and objectives. Training makes an employee aware of how to perform his or her job in a more effective way, it is not a true concept that training is given to only new employees as it can be given to the existing or old employees for making them aware of how to perform their jobs in an effective way. This research paper analyzes the impact of training on performance of staff within an organisational setup.

The main objective of this research paper is to determine the importance employee training and its impact on the performance of the employees within a business organisation.

Literature Review

The importance and benefits of the employee training and its impact on the performance of the employees have been the death by numerous researchers. According to various researches, the training and development of the staff of the organisation is very significant for the success and progress of the overall organisation. The training has a major impact on the performance of the employees as it enhances their skills. According to Oorsouw, Embregts, Bosman et al. (2009), the employees can improve their standard of working by having trainings in all those areas in which they are not confident. Training can bring improvement in the organisational productivity, as the employees will be able to manage the resources of the organisation and daily production in an effective way, which is highly required according to the organisational perspective. The organisational culture should have special place for training and development, as it helps the organisation in managing the activities of the organisation. There are various forms of trainings such as on the trainings and off the job trainings. With the help of continuous training one can transfer knowledge from one employee to another and it makes the employees confident about how to handle the job responsibilities (Oorsouw et.al, 2009, pp. 503).

Aguinis & Kraiger (2009) state that the effectiveness of trainings can be identified with the help of gauging the performance of the employees after giving them appropriate trainings. Performance appraisals are used in most of the organisations for measuring the effectiveness of trainings.
