What is Stereotyping?

The concept of the stereotype comes from the Greek word meaning "rigid patterns". Stereotypes are a collection of information. Every human being categorized and systematized his environment, to facilitate the acquisition and processing of external stimuli acting on it and information. Complex information can be reduced by stereotypes and generalizes certain features. Stereotypes are fixed ideas of qualities or behaviors that people because of their membership of a particular group are attributed.
