Being an effective member of staff

Introduction

I had an opportunity to work as a part time employee at one of the leading IT solution company of United Kingdom, Nouveau Solutions. The company has the mission of building value for its clients, stakeholders and positions itself as one of the leading technology services providers in the market. Being one of the leading companies, students often dream of working with the company and gaining experience for their future success. I had this dream come true and the privilege of working with the company. Nouveau Solutions was formed in the year 1992 and is famous for building mutually beneficial relationships between the employers and the employees for assisting the company in deploying the best resources for coming up with IT solutions. Nouveau is committed to delivering technology solutions in line with, and supporting their customer's business objectives (Nouveau Solutions, 2013).

The services it provides include CRM, Infrastructure, Hosted Solutions, IT Support and Consultancy Services to companies of all sizes across the South of England. By utilising the experience within Nouveau Solutions, customers immediately have access to the expertise of a totally IT focused company. The wide range of experience and the commitment to keeping abreast of technological advancements across the entire IT horizon enables the company to provide unbiased advice across range of IT based issues. The following paper discusses the history and objectives of the organization, general description of the tasks given during placement and IT related functions and processes at the company (Harnett, 2008).

Discussion

2.1 Services

In the quest of providing exception services to the customers, Nouveau has been awarded with Accreditation by ISO9001 which depicts its commitment in delivering quality services to the customers as per their requirements and needs (Wilkinson et. al, 2002).

2.2 Solutions

In my experience at Nouveau Solutions, I focused on assisting the organization with identifying the scope of new technologies and installing the new systems into the organization. The aim was to achieve organizational objectives in a better way. Nouveau provides services such as network design, wireless systems, operating systems, disaster recovery systems, data encryption systems etc. It also helps the businesses for having systems that enable information sharing throughout the organization (Dowden et. al. 2004, pp. 203). As a part of the organization, I also provided effective solutions in terms of increasing customer satisfaction and increased retention rate, as these are one of the most important aspects for an organization. My contribution also included the development of Customer Relationship Management System, Enterprise Resource Planning Systems etc. to cater the increasing demands of the customers and businesses.

2.3 People
