Effective Leadership

Introduction

Before starting off with the paper it is essential to define success, it can be interpreted in many different ways associating different mind sets and values attached to it. Success can have a different meaning as per divergent interpretations. Success is defined as the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like (www.dictionary.com). In my opinion success is much beyond the above mentioned things, success achieved as per the sincerity level of the individual. Meaning that the work you do is as per the best of your abilities with wholeheartedness, honesty and be original in whatever you do. Success should not be limited only the individual achieving it but should also reflect some part of it on the others working around you. If it does not happen, than your success might not channelize into something efficient enough for others. If the individual, in able to reflect his/her success and make it effective enough for others to achieve success than this act in my view known as leadership.

This definition is divided into three parts; therefore, to decode every part of it is necessary to understand it completely before implying it in the concerned field. First phase of this definition speaks about traits of a leader, which cannot be understood if studied in isolation, rather it needs to be understood as combined attributes that influence the performance of a leader. The second part of this definition includes leadership traits that deal with personal qualities, which help to, promote stability as far as the effectiveness of the leader is concerned.

The third component in this definition of leader traits specifies leader attributes as relatively enduring, producing cross-situational stability in leadership performance (Avolio, 2003).The roles of the leader can change over time; in order to exemplify my argument here I would like to cite my observations as part of my ...
