Introduction

The relationship between drug problems and politics in modern times have been studied from points of view many and varied. However, there are very few studies dealing with the perspective of social science on public policy of the largest world power in terms of illegal drugs. The present work aims to fill that void start by providing a brief overview of the relationship between social science research and policy known as "controlled drugs" (drug control) the United States of America.
