Determining the Needs for HRIS

Question # 1

Assess the types of new developments and changes in government regulations and in technology that should be considered in long-range planning requirements for replacing or updating a HRIS.

Answer # 1

The effective comparison of the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) probably helps an organization in saving a lot of futility and expense. For this purpose, it requires a lot much knowledge regarding the functions of human resources as well as the processes that are tactical with the expertise and professionals of information technology as by doing so, an organization could be able to easily select a HRIS that is suitable and effective as per the objectives and size of the organization.

According to a suggested theory which is known as “social constructivist”, it has been analyzed that this theory can play a vital role in the technological studies as the HRIS cannot be analyzed and evaluated without possessing an unambiguous understanding of the individual and group contexts which, accordingly understood, interpret, utilize, and accurately fit into place with technology (Orlikowski & Barley, 2001).

In order to replace or update the HRIS, it is highly significant that organizations could obtain information regarding the new technology which they have planned to launch. Moreover, the organizations must ensure that the current practices of management will act accordingly the organizational needs and it must gradually examine the constantly varying conditions of environment and then plans and develops the strategies that can cope up with such conditions (Kleiman, 2012).

In order to determine the HRIS needs for long-term perspective, it requires a pre-settled time in which the planning process looks beyond the current functions. That's why, in the long-term process planning, the organization considers that how long the planning will have to do and what needs are required to be met for this purpose. The planners of the Human Resources gather information about the entire environment and then monitor that information carefully as per the goals of the organization. The rationale behind the HR planning is to permit the organizations in predicting their future needs and making assured practices that could assist them in meeting the organizational needs. Furthermore, the planning process also requires assorted feedbacks from the top management of the organization in accordance with the organizational needs and state of affairs. Those feedbacks may be for changing the data needs and for the accurate alignments of such needs.
