TASK 1

Research Plan for Data Collection

A large majority of the people, who use gyms, utilize its facilities to either maintain their health condition or improve it. My research would primarily be broken down into two main categories: primary research and secondary research.

My secondary research would focus on the age, demographics, and locations of the individuals. I can also view various articles posted to find a better in depth analysis of the health situation. I can also look at various health magazines circulating within the city to understand the health needs of the individuals. I would also look at hospital data to understand the overall healthcare situation of the country.

Using gym facilities can be quite expensive hence I would also look at the general incomes of the individuals living at Brent Creek. This would give me a fair idea on what facilities such individuals can afford and would also be willing to pay for. I would also look at data concerning the sales of health care equipment such as treadmills, weights, and other machinery. I would also look at the eating patterns of the majority of the people living in the area to better understand their down, allowing me to analyze the ways in which I would be able to improve and add value to their diet.

I would also look at government publications related to health of the entire region, allowing me to analyze the overall health needs of the area. This would allow me to cater all my facilities to individuals who require them the most. Overall, such a technique would allow me to get a better overview of my potential market, increasing the gym's chances for success.

Primary Research Questionnaire

Although secondary research would prove essential to understanding the overall dynamics of the gym's potential market, conducting primary research would be crucial to get all the minute, imperative details allowing the gym to get ahead of the market and become leaders of the pack.

My first part primary research activity would be to observe the local gyms that are popular. I would visit few of these gyms and understand the actions of the individuals there. I would examine the most popular facilities which could include the treadmill, a swimming pool, a sauna, Jacuzzi etc…

The second part of my primary research would be to create a questionnaire targeted towards individuals who have an inclination towards health care. My target individuals would include people visiting the popular gyms, people jogging or running in the park, people in other sports facilities, or even people eating in places serving healthy foods. The questionnaire would comprise various questions related to individual demographic, preferences, incomes etc…
